Making Blackjack Decision on Soft Hands

Some of the toughest blackjack decisions for players to make when playing blackjack at the online casino are the ones that involve soft hands. Just a reminder, soft hands are any hand that has an ace in it. Let’s look at how to handle soft hands in blackjack.

When you have an Ace-2, Ace-3, Ace-4 or Ace-5 and the dealer has a four, five or a six then you want to double down. In all other scenarios you want to hit this soft hand.

What about the trouble hand of Ace-6? You should always hit this hand unless the dealer has a 3, 4, 5 or 6 and in that case you can make a case for either standing or doubling down depending upon your risk tolerance.

What do you do with Ace-7? You should stand when the dealer has a 7 or and 8. You should double down if the dealer is showing a 3, 4, 5 or 6. You hit with all other hands although you can go either way when the dealer is showing a 2.

With Ace-8 and Ace-9 you are going to stand all of the time.
