Ever go to a land-based casino or try out an online casino? You may think that all the players at the blackjack table are equal but you could not be more mistaken in that assumption. There are some rules which are cast in stone about blackjack. These rules are known as basic strategy. For example, assuming you know the basics rules of the game, what do you do if you get two cards that total twelve? Most novices would automatically hit on a low number like that; however, you need to consider what the dealer’s up card is. What difference does that make you might ask? Well this is involved in the basic strategy, you have to fully understand the basics when you are playing, or for sure you are going to leave several dollars at the gaming table.

You can cut down the advantage of the house but you can never overcome it. So back to the original question, the answer is: Hit if the dealer has two or three showing, stand if the dealer has four thru six, otherwise hit. Study basic blackjack strategy before you hit the tables and you will be more successful in the long run.
